Too many modules, or a poorly organized set of them, confuses players and drags down activity. Simplicity and clarity beat completeness.
Start simple, with a clear purpose per module
Launch with three foundational modules, News Feed, Events, and People, rather than everything at once. Every module you add should have a specific role; if a section doesn't have a clear purpose, leave it out of the first version.
Avoid clutter
Limit which modules are visible, remove sections nobody uses, and keep navigation simple. Give each module a clear, custom name so players immediately understand what it's for.
Design around how players actually use it
Structure the app around a logical journey, discovery, engagement, connection, rather than around your own org chart. Keep it active with regular content and management, a well-structured app still needs upkeep to stay effective.
Let it evolve
Start with a focused foundation of 3 to 5 strong modules, then expand gradually based on how your community actually uses the app, not upfront guesswork.
